Good Friday Worship Gathering

  • Worship starts at 10am Sunday mornings.

  • King Of Calvary
Should I forget the kindness of Your heart,
Should I forget how beautiful Your grace,
O lead me to that old and rugged cross
And let these eyes be opened once again

Should I look up and see those healing wounds
    Be unaffected by this mystery
O wash me now beneath that crimson flow
Let me behold the King of Calvary

    Here every drop of blood
Says I am loved and mercy reaches out for me
    Let every grateful breath
Cry hallelujah to the King of Calvary

The blood that flowed will never lose its power
This cross of Christ forever stands to say
That we have been adopted into love
And rescued by the King of Calvary
O praise His name, this King who died for me

    Here every drop of blood
Says I am loved and mercy reaches out for me
    Let every grateful breath
Cry hallelujah to the King of Calvary

Then to arrive in paradise one day
And see in full as I am fully seen
O what a grace forever to behold
The Lamb of God, my King of Calvary
O praise His name, this King who died for me
This King who died for me
This King who died for me

  • Behold this King so innocent
A crown of thorns upon His head
Feel His heart, His heart of grace
    Behold this Man of suffering
Who bore the cross and all our shame
    Breathe again this mystery

Nailed to a cross, there in our place
O Lamb of God You made a way

Once for all You died so we could live again
Once for all You washed away our sin
Streams of mercy and love flowing free forevermore
And Your blood ran down once for all

The scars of love can still be seen
On Your hands and on Your feet
We feel Your heart, Your heart of grace
    Heaven's gates have opened wide
You have raised us up to life
    We breathe again this mystery
Nailed to a cross, there in our place
O Lamb of God You made a way

Once for all You died so we could live again
Once for all You washed away our sin
Streams of mercy and love flowing free forevermore
And Your blood ran down once for all

In the shadow of the cross
We see our shame for what it was
And feel Your heart, Your heart of grace
We see Your power breaking through
And all that we've become in You
    We breathe again this mystery

Nailed to a cross, there in our place
O Lamb of God You made a way

Once for all You died so we could live again
Once for all You washed away our sin
Streams of mercy and love flowing free forevermore
And Your blood ran down once for all

  • O sacred Head, now wounded, with grief and shame weighed down
    Now scornfully surrounded with thorns Thine only crown;
How pale Thou art with anguish, with sore abuse and scorn,
How does that visage languish, which once was bright as morn!

    What Thou, my Lord, hast suffered was all for sinners’ gain;
Mine, mine was the transgression, but Thine the deadly pain.
    Lo, here I fall, my Saviour; ‘tis I deserve Thy place;
Look on me with Thy favour, assist me with Thy grace.

What language shall I borrow to thank Thee, dearest Friend,
For this, Thy dying sorrow, Thy pity without end?
O make me Thine forever, and should I fainting be,
Lord, let me never, never outlive my love to Thee.

  • Here is love vast as the ocean,
    Loving kindness as the flood,
When the Prince of Life, our Ransom,
Shed for us His precious blood.
Who His love will not remember?
Who can cease to sing His praise?
    He can never be forgotten
    Throughout heav’n’s eternal days.

    On the mount of crucifixion,
    Fountains opened deep and wide;
Through the flood-gates of God’s mercy
Flowed a vast and gracious tide.
Grace and love, like mighty rivers,
    Poured incessant from above,
And heav’n’s peace and perfect justice
Kissed a guilty world in love.

Grace and love, like mighty rivers,
    Poured incessant from above,
And heav’n’s peace and perfect justice
Kissed a guilty world in love.

  • When I survey the wondrous cross
On which the Prince of glory died,
My richest gain I count as loss
And pour contempt on all my pride.

Forbid it, Lord, that I should boast
Save in the cross of Christ my God:
The very things that charm me most
I sacrifice them to His blood.

See from His head, His hands, His feet
Sorrow and love flow mingled down:
When did such love and sorrow meet,
Or thorns compose so rich a crown?

Were the whole realm of nature mine,
That were an offering far too small; Love so amazing so divine,
Demands my soul, my life, my all.

  • Our time of worship concludes with the extinguishing of the Christ candle and a loud noise. These symbolize the death of Jesus and the sealing of the tomb.
